Just Good Friends has been set up to combat loneliness and social isolation by bringing people together in friendship.

Our group’s aim is to combat loneliness, isolation and bring people together in friendship and make sure that no-one is ever on their own again. It’s about being there for each other, making new friends, enjoying life and each other’s company. Special friendships are formed and someone recently has met a Best Friend. They would never have known each other had it not been for Just Good Friends.

Loneliness is a terrible problem which we at Just Good Friends trying hard to change. It’s about changing loneliness to happiness, it’s about laughter and fun and being there for each other.

What We Do

We change loneliness to happy, by increasing opportunities to socialise, meet new friends and enjoy life.

Regular Meetings

We hold regular fundraising events, volunteer events, birthday parties, theme nights and often invite entertainers to come along.

Our regular quizzes are hosted by one of our fabulous volunteers allowing everyone to show off their general knowledge.

The online raffles raise money for our charity, whilst giving back to local businesses, by purchasing prizes to be raffled off.

Wish Lists

All members are invited to make a wish, which we work to grant several wishes each year, making members’ dreams come true.

Lord Andrew Mawson, OBE

“Just Good Friends is a great organisation run by a great person Bev, I am proud to be their Patron. As the new White Paper on health talks about ‘joined up’ integrated approaches to health which are deeply rooted in communities and local people’s lives, the health service and public sector would do well to learn from this people focused entrepreneurial approach and get behind it. If fine words are to be translated into practical action on the ground in this post COVID world then Bev and her team are the people to back. I was impressed by their tenacity and care. They are a consistent fact in an endlessly restructuring public sector world – people should get behind them as we have done and grow their capability”
